The north east free ride association Are a voluntary trailbuilding group based in chopwell woodland park near gateshead.
We plan to develop a network of mountain bike trails within the forest which complement the natural surroundings and improve the quality of of its recreational use.
With the support of the friends of chopwell wood I.M.B.A forest enterprise we are building trails ranging from x/c single track to freeride .
Trailbuilding takes place on the first sunday of the month 10 a.m till 2 p.m
we meet at the Forest classroom which is 200 yards from the main car park
we have a dedicated group of builders who turn out every week ,but we always welcome new blood even if its just for a couple of hours .
All gloves and tools are provided by N.E.F.A so you just need to turn up and build.
All you have to watch out for is the biting sarcasm and general comedy outlook of the regular builders .
And as a bonus you get to ride what you've built!

"HIGH VOLTAGE "
This won't be for the faint hearted and will test riding ability to the max.
Designs have been put forward to the F.E. for a range of "north shore" style technical trail features to be built alongside section 2 of the "Powerline trail".
Timber for this project is due on site soon and building will begin as soon we get our hands on it.
These stunts will range from rollercoasters to see saws and everything in between .
